As many of you know, I was honored to participate in the Philly Anne Braden Anti-Racist Organizing Training this past year. It reinforced and deepened my commitment to building power in white communities -- especially poor and working class -- to organize against white supremacy and racism.
That's why I've committed to fundraise $1000 for a critical convening hosted by the Catalyst Project and the Highlander Center to build anti-racist power in poor and working class white communities this April.
40 organizers from across region, culture, and issue will come together to:
- Discuss what’s needed during this moment of accelerated white supremacy
- Share organizing skills and lessons across geographies and sectors
- Share and build strategies about how the white working class can shift to see themselves as part of a broader, multi-racial working class
- Build relationships between more poor and working class white organizers committed to anti-racist struggle
I believe this convening has the power to change how poor and working class white communities contribute to multiracial movements, and we need strong movements right now that can't be divided by race and racism.
Please join me in making a contribution to support poor and working class white leader fighting white supremacy and toward racial justice.
