She learned leadership the best way, serving as a teacher and a building principal. She made hiring decisions, managed crises, and answered to a board and a community. For 10 hard, rewarding years, she ran a school in the heart of downtown.

Andrea Hunley was elected to the General Assembly in 2022. Senator Hunley serves as the Assistant Leader for the Senate Democratic Caucus. She is the Ranking Minority Member on the Utilities and Commerce & Technology Committees. She also serves as a member on the Tax & Fiscal Policy, Education, Pensions & Labor, Ethics, and Rules committees.

Serving the heart of Indianapolis, Senator Hunley's district includes Indiana's largest school district, Fortune 500 companies, world renowned sports teams (Go Fever!), and favorite neighborhoods like Irvington, West Indy, Fountain Square, Old Northside, Garfield Park, Woodruff Place, and more.
