Dr. Anthony D. Andrews Jr. is a Democratic District Leader, a volunteer community organizer, helping organize a more inclusive, more diverse Queens Democratic Party. Professionally, he works as Associate Professor & Director of Student Leadership at CUNY York College mentoring the next generation of leaders.
Outside of his teaching and District Leadership, he has spent over twenty years as Advisory Chair of Queens Hospital Center and the Chair of the Council of Community Advisory Boards for NYC Health + Hospitals, where his volunteerism helped bring millions to expand the emergency room and bring an ExpressCare Center to Queens Hospital Center. He is President of the Queens/ Brooklyn Chapter of the Knights of Peter Claver, the largest historically African-American Catholic lay organization in the United States. Dr. Andrews is also a union delegate for PSC-CUNY, NYSUT & AFT helping negotiate a living wage for all CUNY staff in their recent contract.
