Like many parents, the tragedy of gun violence hit me in a new way when I saw those babies - children my son's age - tearfully fleeing Sandy Hook Elementary. Moms Demand Action for Gun Sense in America was born that day, and as a parent and resident of a city with a woefully high rate of gun violence, I'm determined to do what I can to further their mission. 

The NRA is strong but we are stronger, because we are defending our children, whether we're parents or not. Please consider donating to help volunteers like me, my Memphis team, and concerned citizens across the country mobilize in support of common sense gun laws that will save lives.
