My name is Angelita Morillo and I am running for Portland City Council in 2024 in District 3 (SE Portland).
I moved from Paraguay to the United States as a kid, and my experiences as a queer immigrant who has experienced homelessness have shaped and developed my interest in local government and policy. After attending Lincoln High School and Portland State University, where I studied Political Science and Legal Studies, I worked in Commissioner JoAnn Hardesty's office in Constituent Services and Tribal Relations policy. From there, I went on to do anti-hunger policy with Partners For a Hunger-Free Oregon.
I am passionate about local government and ensuring that policy makers are led by the community they serve and not the other way around. I love Portland and all that it has given me and I want to give back to it so we can work together to make it a better place to live for all of us. Join me in creating a Portland that works for everyone and vote Angelita Morillo for District 3!
P.S. If you are a Portland resident, your first $20 donated will be matched NINE TO ONE by the city's Small Donor Elections program that helps benefit grassroots candidates like me! Read more about the program here.
