Angelita Morillo

Donate to Angelita for Portland!

My name is Angelita Morillo and I am running for re-election for Portland City Council, District 3 (SE Portland with a tiny piece of NE).

In my first year in office I fought corporate rental price fixing by passing the Algorithmic Price Fixing Ban, I held landlords who want to profit off of detention facilities (like ICE) in our community accountable, I pushed for fossil fuel contracts to be investigated, I funded the restoration of Parks bathrooms in District 3, I secured Portland Street Response’s place in our public safety infrastructure, I’ve centered the voices of unhoused and working class people in the City’s approach to homelessness, and I’ve pushed for local transportation funding.

I moved from Paraguay to the United States as a kid, and my experiences as a queer immigrant who has experienced homelessness have shaped and developed my interest in local government and policy. After attending Lincoln High School and Portland State University, where I studied Political Science and Legal Studies, I worked in Commissioner JoAnn Hardesty's office in Constituent Services and Tribal Relations policy. From there, I went on to do anti-hunger policy with Partners For a Hunger-Free Oregon.

I am passionate about local government and ensuring that policy makers are led by the community they serve and not the other way around. I love Portland and all that it has given me and I want to give back to it so we can work together to make it a better place to live for all of us. Join me in creating a Portland that works for everyone and re-elect Angelita Morillo for District 3!

P.S. If you are a Portland resident, your first $25 donated will be matched TEN TO ONE by the city's Small Donor Elections program that helps benefit grassroots candidates like me! Read more about the program here.
