Empower New Voices in Town Meeting

Angus is working to empower young voices in the nation's rawest form of democracy: the New England Town Meeting. In Massachusetts towns, members aren't subject to the ethics and campaign finance laws that elected officials conventionally obey. To make sure that marginalized voices can be heard, even in the face of unlimited, undisclosed corporate spending, we need your support.

Your contribution does two things:

  1. Ensures new voices are elected to be a part of Town Meeting. These campaigns often spend hundreds of dollars, which isn't all that much for some, but students, working parents, and other potential candidates often find this as a considerable barrier.
  2. Supports the policies that Angus and other young progressives want to see in from their towns, from special education funding and safe sidewalks, to zoning reform and senior tax relief. Writing and passing strong policy, from drafting, petitioning, passing through Town Meeting, and in some cases needing a ballot question, this work costs money and we rely on your generosity to make needed change.

Thanks so much for supporting our efforts with your contribution today!
