I’m Dr. Anita Somani — a board-certified OBGYN and the State Representative for Ohio House District 8.
After more than 25 years of caring for patients, I ran for office because I couldn’t stand by while politicians — most of whom have never set foot in an exam room — passed dangerous laws that interfere with reproductive health care, public education, and basic medical freedom.
As the only practicing physician in the Ohio House, I bring science, facts, and compassion to every fight. I’m working to stop extremist abortion bans, stand up for public schools against harmful voucher schemes, and protect affordable healthcare access for all Ohioans.
This work isn’t easy, and the stakes couldn’t be higher. But I believe in putting people over politics — and I hope you’ll stand with me.
