Annual Banquet

The Washington County Democratic Committee cordially invites you to our Annual Banquet at the Hilton Garden Inn, Southpointe on Friday, March 15th, 2024.  The event will start with a social hour and cash bar at 5:30PM, followed by dinner at 6:30PM.  

At our banquet, entitled “Honoring a Legacy of Leadership,” we are thrilled to celebrate our newly elected Mayor of the City of Washington JoJo Burgess.  Mr. Burgess is a United States Army veteran having served in Operations Desert Shield/Storm.  Mr. Burgess is also a United Steelworker and has been involved with his local union for 20 years, holding a number of leadership positions. In addition, he is involved with the USW Rapid Response Program which engages our legislative leaders about the issues affecting working families and the USW PAC working to ensure working families have a voice during the political process. In 2022, Mr. Burgess had the distinct honor of attending the State of the Union Address as the guest of First Lady of the United States Jill Biden. Many of you might remember President Joe Biden recognizing JoJo during his State of the Union speech for his work as a Union Activist.  This past November Mr. Burgess was elected Mayor of the City of Washington, becoming the first Black mayor in the city's history. 

We would be honored to have your support in making this event a huge success.  We have been working hard to make the Washington County Democratic Committee a strong, visible entity in our community.  With your help and generosity, we can continue to grow and strengthen the Democratic Party in Washington County to ensure that Democrats win at the local, state, and federal level.
