Contribution rules
- I am a U.S. citizen or lawfully admitted permanent resident (i.e., green card holder).
- I am at least eighteen years old.
- This contribution is made from my own funds, and funds are not being provided to me by another person or entity for the purpose of making this contribution.
Contributions are not tax-deductible.
Contributions are limited to $700 per source. All contributions you control are subject to this cumulative $700 limit.
Contributions may only be made using your own funds unless you tell the Committee of the true source of the funds. Contributions may not be reimbursed by any other sources unless you tell the Committee of the source of the reimbursement.
The Committee may not deposit your contribution without your name, street address (no PO boxes), occupation and employer, and may not accept cash, cashier’s checks, or money orders.
Contributions from entities and individuals (including lobbyists, lawyers, etc.) with pending land use and government contracting matters before the San Jose City Council – and those who have received a final decision on such matters within the earlier of January 1, 2023 or the preceding the 12 months – are restricted to a single, cumulative $250 contribution limit.
Contributions from cardrooms, cardroom owners, board members of cardrooms, and any person in a management position (with the power to hire and fire employees) of a cardroom are prohibited.
