The proceeds from this event will go to benefit The Legacy Building Project (LBP). The LBP has been recognized across regional media, including Spectrum News and other Akron-based outlets, for its bold vision to establish a 25,000 square foot African American Cultural Center and Museum Complex a transformative space designed to restore community identity, honor Akron’s Black history, and create pathways for education, entrepreneurship, and generational wealth. This work is rooted in addressing the lasting impact of the Innerbelt, which displaced hundreds of families and disrupted a thriving Black community. Today, the project is helping to lead a community-centered movement to repair harm, restore pride, and reinvest in Akron’s future through cultural preservation and economic empowerment.
