Ashika is a lifelong Austinite, an educator, and a fierce advocate for the community.
Ashika was born and raised in West Austin to immigrant parents who taught me the value of hard work, public service, and community.
She taught for years in an AISD middle school after being called for service – but year after year she saw her students and their families deal with the same issues every day — affordability, child care, transportation, and so much more.
District 10 deserves a city councilor who will work tirelessly to solve the issues our community faces every day. And as a Legislative Director in the Texas House, Ashika has spent her time outside of the classroom fighting against extremism and for common sense policies that help Texans.
