Ashwin is running for State Senate in District 48, which includes parts of Johns Creek, Alpharetta, Suwanee, Sugar Hill, Cumming, and Buford. He would be the first Indian American in the Georgia legislature and youngest Indian American to hold state political office in the country. This race is one of the most competitive down-ballot races in GA, and he's running against an incumbent who faces a criminal indictment for trying to overturn the 2020 election results.
Ashwin has a B.S. in Computer Science at Stanford and would take office with a J.D. from Georgetown. In 2020, Ashwin worked in the federal government on cybersecurity to protect our elections. He would also be the first computer scientist in the State Legislature.
