Abortion is healthcare and healthcare is a human right! Abortion funds are there for people who need assistance with the ever increasing costs to obtain abortions, so we’re showing up for them. Join us!
Abortion funds have been breaking down barriers to abortion access for working folks for years - whether it’s coordinating volunteer drivers to get people to their appointments, contributing towards the cost of an abortion procedure, or, since SB8 was allowed to take effect 7 months ago, helping folks navigate out-of-state travel, simply to end a pregnancy they do not want. Abortion funds demonstrate mutual aid in action, collaborating to redistribute wealth and meet the needs of community members in need. In Texas alone, we have 10 abortion funds working together with the 60+ other funds in the country, all assisting folks in navigating barriers to care, largely on a volunteer basis. With Roe all but certain to fall this summer (even if we know Texas is already Post-Roe), the demand to abortion funds is sure to be higher than ever.
What should be an easily obtainable, normal reproductive health procedure has been politicized and working class people are bearing the brunt of it. Texas has one of the highest uninsured rates in the country, run by a bigoted millionaire and a reactionary legislature. And while they try to strip our bodily autonomy, we are working together to stand up and fight back!
Donating today supports these 9 Texas abortion funds:
