Jena Griswold grew up in a working-class family in rural Colorado where her family sometimes struggled to get by, relying on food stamps to put food on the table, and she started working the summer after 7th grade, becoming the first person in her family to attend a four-year college. After earning a law degree from the University of Pennsylvania Law School, Griswold moved to Washington, D.C. to practice international anti-corruption law and later served as Director of the Governor of Colorado's D.C. Office, where she helped secure hundreds of millions of relief dollars for Colorado communities hit by the 2013 flood. In 2018, Griswold was elected as the first Democrat to hold the Colorado Secretary of State's office in 60 years and was re-elected in 2022, making her still the youngest Secretary of State in the country and one of few women to hold constitutional statewide office in Colorado, and as Attorney General, she will continue the fight against Donald Trump's unlawful and unconstitutional actions and policies, ensuring Colorado remains a beacon of justice and democratic values.
