Since becoming President Pro Tempore of the Vermont Senate two years ago, the Senate has achieved - with bipartisan support - groundbreaking achievements, including:
- High-quality, affordable child care with historic investments that have strengthened Vermont's child care sector and made Vermont a national leader in child care
- Climate action and resilience to improve community flood resilience, hold "Big Oil" accountable for their fair share of climate pollution, protect Vermonters and pollinators from toxic PFAS chemicals and pesticides, and expand access to clean heating and energy options that will reduce carbon pollution save Vermonters money over time
- Housing and historic Act 250 reforms to promote development and increase statewide access to housing for all Vermonters
- Gun safety reforms to protect the health and safety of our families and communities
But there is still so much work ahead of us and Vermont needs experienced leadership in order to tackle the complex and ever present challenges before us. I’m more motivated than ever to continue leading the Senate through Vermont’s these challenging times.
