Help Sara Barz Reach Her Goal

Why does Sara keep asking for campaign donations when she doesn’t even have an opponent in this race?

It’s true: Sara is running unopposed for District 8 BART Director, which means she's not spending money on attack ads or opposition research. But you might be surprised to learn that running a campaign isn’t cheap, regardless of whether you’re the only candidate on the ballot.

Add to that the fact that Sara is a working mom with a demanding (transit-oriented) career as well as a demanding (transit-loving) four-year-old, and that means she doesn’t have the time to do everything herself.

Need receipts? Here are just a few of the costs Sara has accrued: campaign finance gurus and compliance experts; campaign strategy advisors; graphic design and printing costs; communications help for her website, email and social media content; and the subscription fees for the software that lets her do it all, including tracking your donations.

In an effort to follow fair elections best practices, Sara pledged to accept contributions up to the state limit ($5,900) for individual candidates running for office in a district without contribution limits. Learn more at www.fppc.ca.gov.
