Juneteenth symbolizes Black American freedom and highlights education, achievement, and celebration. Climate justice is not possible without racial justice, so our organization is committed to actively fighting against white supremacy and racial violence. The following organizations directly support Black lives and aim to dismantle systems that perpetuate systemic racism in our country. If you are able, join Boston Climate Strike in donating to the following:
Massachusetts Bail Fund: Massachusetts jails are filled with people awaiting trial simply because they cannot afford bail. Massachusetts Bail Fund provides up to $2000 bail for low-income individuals so that they can avoid longer incarceration times, lost jobs, lost housing, and devastated families.
Black Lives Matter Boston: Black Lives Matter Boston aims to end state-sanctioned violence against Black people, starting in our local communities in Boston. They support the development of Black leadership and empowerment and also aim to create change within Black communities.
Black and Pink Boston: Black and Pink is a national prison abolitionist organization dedicated to dismantling the criminal punishment system, one of the many structures that perpetuates systemic racism in our country. They support those most effected through advocacy, support, and organizing.
Please donate however much you are able. Boston Climate Strike will match up to $2000 in total donations.
