University of Oregon, bachelor of science degree; Oxford English certificate.

Prior Public service: Peace Corps Volunteer; Oregon Department of agriculture; gypsy moth task force. State of Oregon covered bridge commission; Oregon delegate to China sister province; Columbia Slough watershed council.

It has been my honor to serve the citizens of Lane County for many years. I now offer myself again as a seasoned public servant in diligent pursuit of the public’s interest. LCC is a gem that needs some polish and the board has a huge responsibility to the taxpayers. I will work to protect and enhance our investment. LCC is important for students, for businesses and for the quality of life in Lane County.

As public servants It is our responsibility to retain high-quality faculty, led by inspired administrators, while still keeping tuitions affordable.

If elected, I promise to protect and enhance the potential of all Lane Community College students, through expanded education opportunities, in consort with leading Lane County industries, especially in science, technology, and manufacturing. I favor expanding curricula that advances entrepreneurial endeavors and creates the small businesses that are essential to a thriving economy.

I will always prioritize the values of diversity, equity and inclusion.

I will always protect the rights of historically marginalized students.

I always support the free speech rights of every student and faculty member.

The LCC satellite campuses in Florence and Cottage Grove are under utilized. As West Lane representative, I will help reach across the county, to add curricula supported by quality educators. Expand the array of educational opportunities for more students, including senior citizens.
