The Blue Horizon Texas Podcast Series is an archival project by the Blue Horizon Action Fund, to tell the real-life experiences of progressive candidates running for office in red, rural, and exurban Texas.
The podcasts chronicle the journey of community members who feel compelled to run for local and state positions. Podcast themes include the push back, intimidation, backlash, and threats some candidates face running in small rural towns and conservative strongholds; deeper insight and education on local elected offices in order to create an opening for future progressives to run for those seats; and the genuine commitment for positive change candidates seek for their communities.
Blue Horizon Action Fund is a 501c4 nonprofit with a focus on Civic Education and Engagement. The mission of Blue Horizon Action Fund is to inspire, engage, and prepare local leaders ready to make the next step to run for office in rural and exurban areas of Texas.
