Contribution rules
- I am a U.S. citizen or lawfully admitted permanent resident (i.e., green card holder).
- I am at least eighteen years old.
- This contribution is made from my own funds, and funds are not being provided to me by another person or entity for the purpose of making this contribution.
Political contributions are not tax-deductible for federal or state purposes as charitable contributions. The City of Carlsbad limits contributions to a maximum of $1,100 per individual, business, labor union, organization, or political committee. Spouses may contribute up to $2,200 per couple if both are authorized users of the same account. Contributions from foreign nationals are prohibited. It is unlawful to make a contribution in someone else’s name, to be reimbursed for a contribution, or to fail to disclose the true source of a contribution. All contributions of $100 or more are publicly disclosed.
Re-Elect Priya Bhat-Patel for City Council 2026 complies with CA Gov’t Code §84308. This law limits contributions to $500 from any party, participant, or agent involved in a proceeding before the City concerning a license, permit, contract, or other entitlement for use. This limit applies while the matter is pending and for 12 months after a final decision. By contributing, you confirm that you are not a party, participant, or agent in such a proceeding.
