William Michael “Bill” Daley is a husband, father, grandfather, civic and business leader and former top official in the Clinton and Obama administrations. Bill brings to his campaign for Mayor of Chicago a deep and personal attachment to the city’s neighborhoods and equally deep relationships in the business and civic community.

Contribution rules

  1. I am at least eighteen years old.
  2. This contribution is made from my own funds, and funds are not being provided to me by another person or entity for the purpose of making this contribution.
  3. I am a U.S. citizen or lawfully admitted permanent resident (i.e., green card holder).
  4. I understand that by ordinance of the City of Chicago, no lobbyist registered with the Board of Ethics, or person who has done business with City within the preceding four reporting years, or person who is seeking to do business with the City, shall contribute over $1,500 during a calendar year. This includes persons doing or seeking to do business with the: City of Chicago, Chicago Transit Authority, Board of Education, Chicago Park District, Chicago City Colleges, or Metropolitan Pier and Exposition Authority.
Our campaign policies, Chapter 2-156 of the Municipal Code of Chicago, and Section 25.5 of the Metropolitan Pier and Exposition Authority Act limit contributions to Bill Daley for Mayor as follows:
* Contributions from lobbyists registered with the City of Chicago Board of Ethics are prohibited.
* Contributions from the following persons or entities are limited to $1500 during a calendar year:
• Any person or entity (including all affiliates) that has done over $10,000 of business within any 12 consecutive months during the preceding four years with the City of Chicago, the Chicago Transit Authority, the Chicago Board of Education (including the Chicago School Reform Board of Trustees), the Chicago Park District, and the Chicago City Colleges.
• Any person or entity (including all affiliates) that is, within six months before the contribution, seeking to do business with the City of Chicago, the Chicago Transit Authority, the Chicago Board of Education (including the Chicago School Reform Board of Trustees), the Chicago Park District, and the Chicago City Colleges.
• Seeking to do business includes, but is not limited to, any matter that was pending before the city council or any city council committee in the six months prior to the date of the contribution if that matter involved the award of loan funds, grant funds or bond proceeds, bond inducement ordinances, leases, land sales, zoning matters, the creation of tax increment financing districts, concession agreements or the establishment of a Class 6(b) Cook County property tax classification. Contractors and Others Doing or Seeking to Do Business with the Metropolitan Pier and Exposition Authority Contributions from the following persons or entities are prohibited:
• Any entity with contracts or pending bids for contracts over $50,000 annually with the Metropolitan Pier and Exposition Authority, including contracts that have terminated or expired in the last two years, as well as:
• Any person with an ownership or beneficial interest of more than 7.5% in such entity and his or her spouse.
• The President, Chairman or Chief Executive Officer of such entity and any other individual fulfilling equivalent duties and the spouse of any such person.
• Any employee of such entity whose compensation is determined in whole or in part by the contract with such entity and the spouse of any such person.
• Any corporate parent or subsidiary of such entity, any subsidiary of any corporate parent of such entity and any tax-exempt organization or political committee established by any of the above entities.

* Contributions from the following persons are limited to $1500 during a calendar year:

• Any person or entity (including all its affiliates) that has done over $10,000 of business within any 12 consecutive months during the preceding four years with the Metropolitan Pier & Exposition Authority.
• Any person or entity (including all affiliates) that is, within six months before the contribution, seeking to do business with the Metropolitan Pier & Exposition Authority.
