Welcome to the Billings, MT Fundraising Page! We are volunteers who are passionate about gun safety. Moms Demand Action believes we can keep our Second Amendment rights AND keep guns out of the hands of dangerous people by implementing common-sense gun reform. These reforms are ideas that most Americans already agree with, like background checks on all gun sales and preventing domestic abusers from having a gun.
June, 2 is Gun Violence Awareness Day and our Billings team will #WearOrange to bring awareness to the deadly gun violence problem we have in the United States. The #WearOrange campaign started two years ago by school friends of Hadiya Pendleton, a 15-year-old girl who was shot and killed in Chicago. They chose orange because it is the color hunters wear to protect themselves and others.
This year Moms Demand Action chapters around the country will be fundraising for gun violence prevention. The funds will support amplifying gun violence survivors stories, the BeSMART campaign that encourages gun safety in the home, and research on gun violence. The best part is that our chapter will receive a portion of the funds raised so we will be able to do more local projects, training and educating.
So, for the 90-plus people a day (8 of them children) who die, and the 200 more people who are injured each day by gun violence, will you honor them by making a donation today? Whether your donation is $5, $20, or $100, every dollar leads to a safer future for our children.
Thank you!
