"I’m writing to encourage you to support Run On Climate, a new organization that is filling a critical niche within the climate movement. With the ever-shrinking window of time that we have to act in order to avoid the worst impacts of the climate crisis, we need bold action at all levels of government. A number of incredibly skilled organizations and individuals are doing great work to push for State and Federal level policy change. But there are very few organizations doing this work at the local level.

The local level is where aggressive climate policies happen first. It is there that they are made politically possible, and where their effectiveness is proven before being scaled up. It is also where the next generation of state and federal elected leaders get their start in crafting and passing policy.

Run On Climate is devoted to supporting local elected officials in passing bold climate policy. An investment in their work will ensure that cutting edge local policy victories continue to expand and accelerate. I encourage you to fund their efforts as a critical piece of infrastructure which complements the broader climate movement."
