Birding By Ear with Peter Schoenberger

Join Peter Schoenberger and listen to the sounds

of the birds, followed by a delicious brunch

Sunday, May 26th, 7:45am-12pm

(Address will be emailed up on receipt of donation)

The walk will begin at 8:00am promptly,

the birds are up early!

Learn the basics of identifying our local birds by the songs they sing and the sounds of their voices. The walk will be led by Peter Schoenberger, one of Ulster County’s top birders, who will show us patterns of sound and help put a visual to the avian orchestra of sounds we hear all the time. After the walk, we will come back and enjoy a lovely picnic together. It is a truly wonderful experience!

What to bring:

  • Binoculars if you have them
  • Favored Bug Spray
  • Hat/ Sunblock
  • Comfy clothing for easy walking
  • Water
  • Note pad and pen
  • Rain Gear if needed

The birding part of this event will be along driveways, a road, and possibly hiking paths. There will be no difficult terrain or hard hiking.
