Help bring a splash of COLOR to 2019.
I am writing you today for a contribution to the Utah Democratic Black Caucus. Your contribution to the Democratic Black Caucus will aid in the continued momentum we have achieved in recent months. This momentum has resulted in three African American Women running for City Council seats throughout the Salt Lake Valley. Your contribution will also go towards our objective of finding enthusiastic candidates who share our values and can be a voice in our communities.
Your contribution will also go towards our efforts in hosting events that will engage and educate our young African American community on the importance of politics. We will be hosting our first event of 2019 called “Politics 101” on August 24, 2019, time and location TBD. Our keynote speaker will be Travis Nelson, who is the Western Regional Director at Democratic National Committee Black Caucus. The goal of this event is to educate the community on the American Political System by providing useful information about Congress, political parties, the Constitution, elections, state government, and much more.
