This August, Momentum is bringing Black Momentum back to the South for the first time in over two years. The training will convene some of the most committed and strategic Black organizers to learn tools that can build powerful social movements and win on the most pressing issues of our time.
We've established a Black Momentum Scholarship Fund to ensure the training is accessible to those most poised to lead our movements, regardless of their financial resources. Can you join us by supporting the fund?
Racism and white supremacy are more visible than they have been in decades, fascism is on the rise, and black bodies continue to fill the imaginations and pockets of an economic elite that regards us primarily as profit making property. Liberation seems far off, yet black organizers continue to fight.
Black Momentum will strengthen the ecosystem of Black organizers in the South and across the US by creating a Black only learning space that will uplift and deepen existing cross-organization relationships. We’ll work together to understand the reasons for our movement’s successes so far, contextualize momentum-driven organizing in our shared history of past civil rights and liberation movements, and experiment with the tools with which we can achieve what is currently unthinkable―ending structural racism in the United States.
Please consider supporting the Black Momentum Scholarship Fund, which will enable us to provide full or partial tuition and travel scholarships to at least 40 Black organizers who otherwise would not be able to attend.
We invite you to join us in building a beautiful Black future.
