I’m Troy Blackwell, a proud Bronx native from a working-class Afro-Latino family, and I’m proudly running to serve as one of the next DNC Vice-Chairs. My story is one of resilience and opportunity, deeply rooted in the struggles and triumphs of everyday Americans. Growing up on public assistance as the son of a unionized healthcare worker and an immigrant small business owner taught me the value of hard work, collective action, and the urgent need for leaders who understand the challenges families face.
From supporting working class immigrants complete the N-400 application for naturalization to working with national labor unions fighting for a liveable wage, my service has since taken me across the country as part of the Biden-Harris and Obama-Biden administrations, as well as historic presidential campaigns. These experiences have shown me the power of Democratic values and the necessity of bold, inclusive leadership.
As Democrats, we face new challenges: combating disinformation, investing in our growing diverse coalition, and ensuring our messaging speaks directly to working families about jobs, housing, and inflation. I believe we can rise to these challenges with fresh ideas and an unwavering commitment to our shared values.
Your kind donation helps me put resources into by campaign for Vice Chair and empower the grassroots from the bottom up. Together, we can counter the forces of disinformation, inspire voter participation, and ensure every American—especially those closest to the pain—feels seen, heard, and represented. Let’s fight for a future that reflects the promise of our nation and the values of our party.
Yours In Service,
Troy Blackwell
