Blake Pennington has served in the City Attorney’s office for over a decade, first as Assistant City Attorney and then as Senior Assistant City Attorney, and has been part of the fights to defend ordinances such as the Uniform Civil Rights Protection Ordinance in 2015 and the anti-puppy mill ordinance passed by the City Council in 2022.
He’s running for City Attorney because Fayetteville deserves a City Attorney who brings experience, steady judgment, and a commitment to public service.
Prior to joining the City Attorney’s Office in January of 2014, Blake was in private practice in Northwest Arkansas. He is a member of the International Municipal Lawyers Association, the Arkansas Municipal League, the Washington County Bar Association, and the Arkansas City Attorneys Association. His community involvement includes serving as past President of the Peace at Home Family Shelter Board of Directors, past President of the University of Arkansas Law Alumni Society Board, and as a member of the Rotary Club of Fayetteville. He is also a past Fayetteville Planning Commissioner and former chairman of the Fayetteville Telecommunications Board.
