The fight for racial equality in the US and around the world continues to this day and direct action through a tax deductible
donation is one of the best ways to contribute.
For my 26th birthday I'm launching a campaign to raise a modest $10,000 for some of the best civil rights groups around:
-American Civil Liberties Union-working to protect all people's constitutional rights
-Campaign Zero-working to end police violence
-Equal Justice Initiative-committed to ending mass incarceration and excessive punishment in the United States, to challenging racial and economic injustice, and to protecting basic human rights
-Know Your Rights Camp-advancing the liberation and well-being of Black and Brown communities through education, self-empowerment, mass-mobilization
Having worked in fundraising for multiple years I cannot overstate how every donation of any amount makes a grassroots
campaign come together and leads to true, valuable change in the world.
I am personally contributing $1000 evenly to the four organizations listed and am encouraging you to make a donation of any amount you're
comfortable.
You could give 1% of mine and donate $10.
You could donate $26 as a birthday gift to the cause.
You could give $46, the age of George Floyd when he was murdered.
Any amount you choose, across the charities or singularly to one, makes a huge difference in progressing towards racial justice.
I thank you kindly for even discovering this page.
Know that regardless how much you give, the fact that you're here means something.
I encourage you to take that something and harness it in the best way you can: whether that be making sure to vote, attending a protest,
simply educating yourself and others, or making donations.
Reworking something I heard from Kobe once: Please know, no matter who you are, if you're working to make the world better in any way I'm thinking of you, supporting you, and
encouraging you always. Peace.
