Black Lives Matter New Hampshire is building the future of maternal health in our state by training the next generation of community-based doulas. Through our BLM NH Doula Training Cohorts, we provide comprehensive, culturally responsive doula education to individuals who are committed to supporting families during pregnancy, birth, and postpartum.
Each year, BLM NH will host two doula training cohorts, preparing up to 24 new doulas annually to serve communities across New Hampshire. These trainings remove financial barriers so participants can receive high-quality instruction, hands-on learning, and mentorship while preparing for state doula certification.
Doulas play a powerful role in improving birth outcomes. Research shows that doula support can reduce medical interventions, improve breastfeeding rates, and increase positive birth experiences. For Black and marginalized families—who often face disparities in maternal health outcomes—having culturally responsive support can make a life-changing difference.
Your donation helps make this training accessible.
When you sponsor a doula, you help cover the cost of training materials, instruction, clinical mentorship, and hands-on learning experiences that prepare doulas to support families through pregnancy, birth, and postpartum.
Every gift helps strengthen the perinatal workforce and expand access to compassionate, culturally grounded care.
You can support a future doula—and the families they will serve—by making a one-time donation at any amount.
Together, we can build a stronger network of birth support and move closer to a future where every family has the care, advocacy, and respect they deserve.
