Hickenlooper has a long and impressive career in Democratic politics. A geologist and small business owner, he served first as mayor of Denver for eight years, then as governor of Colorado for another eight. After making a bid for president, he has now set his sights on flipping the Senate seat currently held by Republican Cory Gardner, a must-win seat on the Senate map.
Under Hickenlooper’s leadership, Colorado had the #1 economy in America 3 years in a row. He invested in a state-wide broadband network, wrote groundbreaking pollution regulations, and led the state recovery from a plague of natural disasters. Hickenlooper was famous for his ability to build consensus and make friends with anyone, regardless of party.
