Roy Cooper for Governor
The day after Roy Cooper was elected governor by a razor-thin margin, the Republican congress held an emergency meeting to strip him of his power. In spite of this McConnell-style cheating, Cooper managed to score some huge accomplishments during his first term.
His major victories include big pay raises for teachers, paid family leave, and anti-discrimination legislation. He used executive orders to set North Carolina on the path to a green economy. He battled opioid abuse and banned conversion therapy. And Cooper is just getting started. He is bringing big progressive change to North Carolina and leading the Democrats on their quest to flip the state blue.
