In my life I have experienced what it’s like to work to put food on the table and to struggle to get healthcare for my children. I’ve lived through poverty. I’ve experienced the oppressive criminal justice system. I’ve lived through a healthcare system that minimizes the needs of black and brown women. I’ve relied on assistance so that my family could have the footing to make a better life. It’s exactly those experiences that makes me qualified to be a member of Congress.
It’s time to build on the support we gained last cycle and turn it into votes. It’s time for us to harness the urgency of now. 2020 is OUR time to win!
