How, exactly, can Democrats win the House of Representatives in the 2024 elections? Here is the simplest possible path:
- Currently, the U.S. House is 220-211 in favor of Republicans, with four vacant seats. Once those seats are filled–three of them are solid Dem seats, and one is a solid GOP seat–the House will be 221-214 in favor of Republicans.
- This means that Democrats must flip at least four Republican-held seats in order to capture the House in 2025.
- Using The Cook Political Report, I found six Republican-held seats listed as "toss-ups" which President Biden won with at least 53% of the vote in 2020. These are pretty blue seats that Democrats should be able to win, especially in a year that is shaping up to be slightly pro-Democratic nationwide.
- This Act Blue page features the Democratic nominees in all six of these districts, so that you can support all of their campaigns at the same time.
Please, split a donation of $10, $20 or $50 to Adam Gray, Rudy Salas, George Whitesides, Laura Gillen, Mondaire Jones, Janelle Bynum, and Bowers News Media PAC. Help Democrats take back the House by winning the six bluest "toss-up" seats currently held by Republicans.
