Donate to help Virginia Democrats flip three seats in the House of Representatives in 2026

On May 8, 2026, the Democratic redistricting map that would have resulted in Democrats picking up four seats in the United States House of Representatives was struck down by the Virginia Supreme Court.

Despite this, Democrats in Virginia can still flip as many as three Republican-held seats in the United States House of Representatives in 2026. The national electoral environment still strongly favors Democrats, and all of the top candidates Democrats had recruited for these seats are still running:

  1. In Virginia's first congressional district, which Donald Trump won by roughly five points in November 2024, Democrat Shannon Taylor has vowed to stay in the race and flip the seat from red to blue anyway;

  1. In Virginia's second congressional district, which was almost precisely tied in November 2024, Democrat Elaine Luria has also declared that she will keep fighting to win back her old seat, which she lost by less than four points in the 2022 elections;

  1. In Virginia's 5th congressional district, which favored Donald Trump by thirteen points in 2024, Democrat Tom Perriello announced that he would continue his campaign. It is worth noting that Perriello actually won a version of this seat that was exactly as red as the current version back in the 2008 wave election year for Democrats.

If Democrats are able to secure all three of these seats–all of which are winnable, to different degrees–then it would mean their defeat at the Virginia Supreme Court would only cost them one seat in the 2026 House of Representatives elections.

I have put together this ActBlue page so that you can split a donation between Shannon Taylor, Elaine Luria and Tom Perriello at the same time. On this page, you can also donate to Bowers Kerbel Media, which is the two-person, pro-democracy and pro-Democratic organization that operates both the Bowers News Media news and activism email list and the Wolves and Sheep political analysis and practical life advice Substack.

You can adjust the amounts you give to each entity by clicking "customize amounts." No donation to Bowers Kerbel Media, or any individual candidate, is required in order to donate to the other candidates on the page. You can also learn more about, and directly support, Shannon Taylor, Elaine Luria and Tom Perriello on their campaign websites.

Please, split a donation between Shannon Taylor, Elaine Luria, Tom Perriello and Bowers Kerbel Media. Let's flip three Republican-held seats, and take back the United States House of Representatives, no matter what congressional maps we are forced to run under.
