I’m Bobby-Jo Bechard, and I’m running for At-Large City Council because I believe in the strength of our community and the potential for positive change. As a lifelong resident of Augusta and the director of Peer Support Programs, I understand the challenges many of us face—whether it’s securing affordable housing, accessing mental health resources, or ensuring our streets are safe for all.

My mission is to create a community where everyone has the opportunity to thrive. I will advocate for:

• Adequate and Affordable Housing: Everyone deserves a safe place to call home. I will work tirelessly to ensure that our housing policies are inclusive and accessible to all.
• Grassroots Mental Health and Recovery Programs: With nearly 15 years of experience in peer support, I know firsthand the impact of accessible mental health services. Together, we can build a network of support that empowers individuals on their journey to recovery.
• Safe Streets for All: Improving our crosswalks and lighting will create a safer environment for pedestrians, families, and our most vulnerable community members.

I’m committed to listening to you, the residents of Augusta, and prioritizing your needs. Together, we can build a brighter future for our community—one that embodies resilience, hope, and inclusivity.
