Twenty-nine Monadnock Street (“29”), an 1880 Victorian single-family house (with 7 bedrooms, 5 fireplaces, and unique cast iron, stained glass, and wood detailing), is more than just a home. For the past 50 years it has been an incubator, a resource hub, a catalyst, and a community of housemates and neighbors. In December 2022, owner and founder of the affordable residential community at 29, Bob Haas, passed away. 29 is a huge part of Bob's legacy, and his hope was that his home would remain a supportive, and affordable, base camp for people motivated to live in and serve communities like Upham’s Corner.
It is in Bob’s honor that we formed the Bob Haas Community Trust, in order to, in partnership with the Dudley Street Neighborhood Initiative (DSNI) and Dudley Neighbors Inc.’s community land trust, preserve 29's uniquely affordable community and build upon Bob's legacy on Monadnock Street.
The Bob Haas Community Trust is fiscally sponsored by the Dudley Street Neighborhood Initiative (DSNI). All donations are made to DSNI and restricted for use by the Bob Haas Community Trust.
