Black and Pink MA is a prison abolition organization fighting for the abolition of the criminal punishment system. As directly-impacted LGBTQ+ people and people living with HIV, we know folks like us suffer in ways straight, negative people don't.
Over the past year we really pumped up our reentry work and something became resoundingly clear: there is almost no where for a poor trans person without familial resources to go after jail or prison.
We are therefore so excited to announce something we've been playing close to the chest: thanks to a very generous donor, we now have an apartment for unhoused transgender members and members leaving incarceration! In our first apartment, we're concentrating on providing housing for trans members, whom we struggle to find a safe place for in traditional sober and transitional housing.
We always strive to do more than the bare minimum for our members, so we imagine a bright, beautiful house with plenty of places to sit and hang out, as well as private space for each member. We imagine art on the walls, and rainbow everything!
Please help us furnish this home for transgender members involved with the criminal punishment system.
