Run for Something Action Fund

In honor of Brian Agler

Brian Samuel Agler was a progressive speechwriter and communications advisor who cared deeply about politics, civic engagement, and electing the next generation of progressive leaders - so much so that he lent his speech writing skills to up-and-coming progressive candidates, free of charge.

On June 17, 2020, Brian died from colorectal cancer at age 31. He never got to meet his son, Sam, who was born six weeks later. Each year, in honor of Brian's birthday, his wife, Claire, chooses an organization that he would have loved to support, and fundraise in his honor. In other words: Brian's Birthday Gift. To celebrate his 34th birthday, Claire chose Run For Something, an organization that Brian loved.

Run for Something Action Fund recruits and supports gen z and millennials getting involved in local government through outreach, education, and research.

In Claire's words: Brian would be so honored for you to support Run for Something - and would be thrilled that you are investing in a future world that our son, Sam, will be a part of. If 295 people each donate $34, in honor of Brian's 34th birthday, we will make our goal! Thank you for supporting Run For Something; I am so grateful, and Brian would be, too.

If you prefer to contribute by check, please make your donation out to Run for Something Action Fund with Brian Agler written in the memo and mail to:
