Send The Blue Ridge Young Democrats to VAYD Convention!

Every spring, the Virginia Young Democrats come together for their annual Convention, and this year's location is in Hampton Roads!

We're asking for your help in getting our members there. Each Convention and Awards Gala ticket costs $30. In addition, because Hampton Roads is so far away, our members will need lodging, which at the default rate, costs around $540 per person for the weekend, bringing the total to around $600 per person without accounting for travel.

We are actively seeking cheaper group accommodations and working to carpool, but we're setting our fundraising goal at $3,600 - enough to cover the full cost of tickets and lodging for at least six of our members.

This meeting is important because it's our chance to elect new state-level leaders, review VAYD's organization and priorities, and network with each other to lay the groundwork for future community-building and electoral success.

Funds raised from this campaign will first be used to subsidize the costs of Convention for our members. If we do not reach our goal, we will give priority to our members with the greatest financial need. If we overshoot our goal or end up with funds leftover, we will put those towards our other activities like printing literature and hosting community events.

Your support really makes a difference! Our Chapter is small and young compared to others in VAYD, but we were awarded Chapter of the Year at last year's Convention for our community-centered mindset - proof that we can do a lot with a little and are a worthwhile investment!
