Support Beyond the Choir's work.

Beyond the Choir provides training and direct support to grassroots organizing efforts. We partner with other social justice organizations and also run our own programs, like the Veterans Organizing Institute. Our name captures the core of our mission: to build movements capable of winning real change, we need to do more than just “preach to the choir.” Our training program supports emergent progressive leaders in developing an analysis of the contemporary populist landscape while also developing practical organizing skills.

After the 2016 election, we stepped away from fee-for-service work in order to engage more directly with on-the-ground organizing in key states. We are piloting a burgeoning program in Pennsylvania that has helped to mobilize unprecedented numbers in unlikely places. We helped to launch Lancaster Stands Up, providing significant staff support to the nascent organization, as we now extend our support to a larger region of the state and also work to share lessons with a larger national movement.

This work is about breathing new life into our democracy by bringing everyday working people into the political process. We're helping to build grassroots power that lasts beyond an individual election cycle. It takes resources and funding to carry out this work. Thank you for your support.
