Buchanan for Rock County Board, District 11

As the Vice-President of the Beloit Police and Fire Commission, I'm proud to see how far our community has come. In just the few years, the number of gunshot victims has fallen by 88% and homicides by 75%. All while officer complaints have fallen by almost 25%.

In my day job, I work as an Environmental Policy Consultant. I've helped connect farmers with resources to keep nitrates from leaching into groundwater and worked on federal flood insurance to make communities more resilient to natural disasters.

Joining my campaign as treasurer is former State Senate Majority Leader and Beloit resident Judy Robson. She served 12 years in the Wisconsin State Assembly, 12 years in the State Senate, and was the first female Democratic Majority Leader in Wisconsin history. 

I'm running for County Board because I am a strong advocate for alternatives to incarceration, expanding treatment and diversion courts, and the proven policing efforts that reduce incarceration. That's how we keep our community safe.

I also believe we must also expand affordable housing, protect our water from lead and nitrate contamination, and build livable people-first neighborhoods.

My wife and I chose the west side of Beloit because we believe in it, and I want to represent it with honesty, accessibility, and a focus on real results. Many residents do not always see how county government impacts their daily lives. I want to change that by bringing open communication and transparency to the 11th District.

People deserve clear information, timely responses, and a Supervisor who listens. That’s what I’ve done on the Police and Fire Commission, and that’s what I will do on the County Board. If you believe in this vision, I’d be honored to have your support.

Unfortunately, campaigns are not free. Yard signs alone cost about $500. Additionally, my campaign will need thousands of political flyers to canvass and mail to voter. How much I raise will determine how many voters I'll be able to reach to win.

I more than anyone knows that ONE vote can determine the outcome of an election!
