Bushra Amiwala is an activist, advocate, public servant and elected official, running to represent IL-9 in Congress.
Bushra is the First Gen Z Elected Official in the United States, and currently serves on Skokie 73.5's Board of Education.
In her 7 years of service on the board of education she has championed transparency, by livestreaming and offering recordings to all public meetings, accessibility, by offering extracurricular programming to students on free and reduced lunch free of charge, and inclusion, by being the first school district in the State to offer Halal, Kosher and Vegetarian food options for all students, serving as a shining example to the entire nation.
Bushra has spent a career in tech, for the past five years, has an MBA from Kellogg - Northwestern’s School of Management, and has served on a myriad of nonprofit boards in the past decade.
