Join me for an evening of community, conversation, and connection. I’d love the chance to hear what matters most to you, share more about why I’m running for Oakland School Board, and talk about how we can work together to build stronger schools for our students and families.
Find out why I was the ONLY Oakland School Board candidate endorsed by the Alameda County Democratic Party.

A note from Kathryn:
I’m running for Oakland School Board because I care deeply about what happens to our children and the future of our public schools.
My parents sacrificed a great deal to make sure my sisters and I could attend strong public schools because they believed education would open doors for us. They were right. But no family should have to make extraordinary sacrifices just to give their child access to the quality education every child deserves.
Now, as an OUSD parent and school-community leader, I see that same hope in families across Oakland. We want our children to be supported and challenged, to have great teachers, and to leave school prepared for whatever comes next.
I also bring more than 20 years of professional experience leading teams, managing complex organizations and multimillion-dollar budgets, and bringing people together to solve difficult problems. I’m ready to put that experience to work for Oakland’s students.
I know we can do better. We need leadership that keeps students at the center, uses our resources wisely, listens to families and educators, and is willing to make thoughtful, sometimes difficult decisions in the best interests of our schools.
That’s why I’m running, and it’s why I’m asking for your support.
This campaign is powered by people who believe in what’s possible for Oakland’s students. Your contribution helps us reach more neighbors, have more conversations, and build the community support needed to bring meaningful change to our schools.
I would be deeply grateful to have you be part of it.
