Lots of things compete for your attention in the day’s email. I am grateful that you’ve chosen to invest a little time looking over my request for a contribution for my campaign for Mayor.
This note outlines the reasons why I have chosen to seek office as Mayor of Palmdale and why you should vote for me.
Election Day is November 2013.
Most importantly, by supporting my campaign, you are literally helping to save lives in Palmdale and we need your help to get this message out to the people of Palmdale. Your donations will be used for this purpose.
I am committed to saving our lives, promoting health, safety and to improve the quality of life for our families:
1. I will continue to oppose the gas powered power plant scheduled to be built in Palmdale because the risk of building this plant, outweigh the rewards. The true risks of building it has not been fully disclosed to the public.
2. 1400 tons of pollution will be released into populated areas. The EPA reports that this pollution has been proven to cause heart failure, cancer, respiratory failure, and asthma related illnesses.
3. They plan is also to install a 36” high pressure gas line across the city from Avenue S to Avenue M [7.4 miles] on the San Andreas Fault to this plant that will sit on the border of Lancaster. The risks of deaths due to explosions during an earthquake are too great.
4. Additionally, a cloud of pollution will be released 6 miles into the air causing low visibility 6-11 days per year, essentially taking away our right to breathe clean fresh air.
It is my goal to stop the construction of this plant as well as to improve our way of life in Palmdale – details of which you will find on my website www.maggiecampbell.org.
I need your support. May I count on you? Process the largest contribution that you can on line today.
You may also set a monthly [recurring] contribution as well. Follow the prompts for instructions.
With warm regards and great appreciation,
Maggie Campbell, United States Navy Veteran
