Progressive Victory is helping DGG organize a "canvass house" - where dedicated political organizers will knock doors every day, preparing for the 2024 election.
We're starting in January, so we need to raise the money now - we're paying stipends to the canvassers, rent, and food.
This canvass house is a pilot project - a test of the DGG canvass house model that we can implement at larger scale in the 2024 general election. The work that comes out of this pilot house program will help tell the story of what DGG has accomplished so far and the power it can bring in future elections.
Donating now will help us get the project off the ground and prove to that the DGG canvass model works.
What is deep canvassing and why does DGG have special expertise to do it?
When the Democratic Party traditionally canvasses, they go after “triple primes.” People that vote in federal, state, and local elections. Deep canvassing is harder and more time-consuming. You target specific types of voters with large data, and develop relationships with them over an election cycle.
This is slower and more expensive. But you’re activating an electorate not just for one election, but for many. People who watch Destiny are well equipped to listen to people’s concerns, to engage them in good faith, and to be prepared with educated, thoughtful answers.
Why is DGG helping pay for the first house?
I’m going to be frank. There are a lot of small people who would rather sabotage Destiny than win this election. They’ve got bot talking points ready to discredit Destiny, and they will use them to go after our funders. The conversation will become about the most divisive things he’s ever said, instead of the work we need to do to win.
We need this first house to prove the model works, and we will partner with other streamers for big weekend canvassing events. I will make it my mission to bring major press there to cover the work you’ve done. When people Google DGG and Steven, I want this initiative to be the first thing to come up.
With this success, PV can raise the money we need to massively scale the operations and partner with other streamers. The Democratic Party is risk averse, but they’ll accept that risk when the ideas are proven to work.
Where will the money I donate go?
All of this money will go for this canvassing effort, particularly rent and resources for canvasing leaders. This could include a small amount for FEC compliance or large data analysis for voter targeting, but will be trivial.
None of the money will go to PV staff salaries. Both Destiny and Sejin will have accounting oversight and full transparency over the money raised.
What are the stretch goals?
More houses in more states. More people in paid positions. More huge weekend events.
