$35,000 Fund For U.S. Capitol Workers

Goal thermometer

UPDATE: Thousands of National Guard troops will remain in DC through March, and possibly as late as this Fall, to help protect the Capitol. We will continue to provide meals so long as donations permit.

Thousands of people come to work every day at the U.S. Capitol building to clean, repair, report, protect and legislate. On January 6, 2021, these defenders of our democracy endured an unspeakable tragedy.

To show our support and appreciation for the work they do to uphold, protect and run the Capitol, we are partnering with local restaurants such as Ben’s Chili Bowl, Old Ebbitt Grill, The Hamilton, Tortilla Coast, Medium Rare, Taco City and Comet Ping Pong — and coordinating with the USO and DC Armory — to provide free meals to the heroes of the Green Zone through the end of this month, or longer as donations permit.

The Ben’s Chili Bowl team, including Virginia and Sonya Ali, send the National Guard off with some warm meals.

So long as DC remains in a state of heightened security, we will do everything we can to crowdfund the support necessary to feed the National Guard, law enforcement and those protecting, rebuilding, and enshrining democracy in our nation’s Capital until the end of the month and beyond.

Chip in here to help us reach our goal and support these American heroes!
