Corporate Accountability and Public Participation Africa (CAPPA) is playing a lead role in demanding justice for the killing and maiming of peaceful protestors in Lagos, Nigeria on October 20. This is a rapid response project launched at an inflection point in Nigeria, which has been spurred by the grassroots #EndSARS movement.
About CAPPA: In January 2020, those leading the Lagos office of Environmental Rights Action/Friends of the Earth, Nigeria (ERA) decided to take their campaigning to the next level. CAPPA officially launched in June 2020. CAPPA challenges the current model of economic and corporate globalization which excludes and tramples on the rights of local communities. And it promotes solutions that will help create environmentally sustainable and just societies.
