Cara is a lifelong St. Louisan who believes in city government to provide basic city services, reliable public safety, and a path for growth. She is a dedicated public servant and a leader in making city government work for its residents.
The first in her family to earn a college degree, she holds a B.S. in Mathematics from Truman State University. Since being elected alderman in 2015, she passed the first meaningful gun legislation in decades, successfully fought the privatization of Lambert International Airport, and curbed predatory lending.
Cara has long championed transparency in government and has zero tolerance for corruption. When she’s not working, she enjoys spending time with her 13-year-old son, Cy, cycling, hiking, and harvesting tomatoes in her backyard.
